Friday, June 14 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Skyline Dining Room, World Business Center
500 Beacon Parkway West
Birmingham, AL 35209
Featuring legendary sumo wrestler, Yasokichi KONISHIKI, the first foreign-born sumo to reach ozeki, the second highest rank in Japan's national sport!  During his career, Konishiki won the top division championship on three occasions and almost became the grand sumo champion, or yokozuna.  Konishiki was incredibly popular during his sumo career and is just as popular today!  After retiring from sumo, he began his television and music career and now hosts one of the most successful morning children's television programs in Japan, "Nihongo de Asobo".  At our special event, Konishiki will speak on his sumo career and give a musical performance with his wife, Chie-san.

This once in a lifetime special event will also serve to support "Konishiki Kids Foundation" to help children in the Tohoku Area who still suffer from the earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011.  Local sponsorship is critical to the success of this fundraising effort for our friends in Japan.

Admission in the amount of $50 will be charged for pre-registered individuals.   For more details visit JASA or call 205-943-4730.
