I made mochi on Sunday.

It's end of the year and need to welcome New Year. This is our tradition, making mochi, pounding sweet rice.
We use a machine now and easy to make it. First steam sweet rice.

Second, machine has a fin at bottom and trun around. So, rice trun around and can make sticky.

After that, take mochi out from the machine and make ball size. We put sweet red bean in some.

We used to make mochi like this.  Steaming sweet rice.

 Before pounding, smash slow.

 Then pound rice and tunr over rice each time.
