Tuna Tuna Tuna!!!




I finally got good tuna.

I bought 1/4 of tuna and stomach side. See, this nice chu-toro.

It's time for cold ramen

It is called hiyashi-chuka. This is cold ramen noodle.
The soup is cold and noodle is also cold.
The soup is soy sauce vinegar flavor.
This is good for summer.
It is available until September.

Boorhaven Post Office was closed.



I was shocked last night. I stopped by Brookhaven Post office last night to drop some mails.

I did not know when they were closed.


All workers there were very nice.

From Tohoku Earthquake

Tohoku is a part of Japan and middle of earthquake. I found so many products were made around there.

Mackrel 38% comes from Tohoku.

Sanma, Saury 41% comes from Tohoku.

Salmon 19% comes from Tohoku.

Shark 61% comes from Tohoku. Fish cake is made by shark meat.

Bonito 13% comes from Tohoku.

Farmed Oyster 29% comes from Tohoku.

Farmed wakame seaweed 79% comes from Tohoku.


And some vegetables comes from Tohoku and North Kanto( north of Tokyo)

Garlic 78% comes from there.

Gobo 66% comes from there.

Green onion 58% comes from there.

Nappa cabbage 52% comes from there.

Lotus roots 51% comes from there.

Spinach 50% comes from there.

Edamame 50% comes from there.

Cabbage 41% comes from there.


It is not easy to serve.


And 25% of rice comes from Tohoku.

Natto, fermented soy bean 60% comes from North Kanto.


So far, we have inventory from last year. But we have no idea after summer.

Breaking News: Good tuna just arrived.


We got a good big eye tuna this afternoon. I do not remember when was the last time.

This is not super excellent but cannot complain it.

It is because it really hard to get.

We have eaten too much before. Big eye tuna is in danger.

I have no idea when is next time.

Albarino, New wine by the glass

It's the time for white wine. This is the our new white wine by the glass. Albarino is from Spain. But I think many people do not know. This is the sad thing of Spanish wines. It is because not much Spanish restaurants are available in town. Spain has great wines but not popular like Italian wine or French wine. French and French wine, Italian and Italian wine. See, Spanish? Where is Spanish restaurant here?

Blood Orange

Do you like this? I like it. I think the season is started. It is an orange but red color in it. The taste is very sweet.

Nike Masters Green ball

This is limited and not sold at stores, sorry for this. I got this from a guy who works for Nike Golf ball division. I will keep this and will not use, will not sell at ebay.

Kashiwa Mochi, Pounding Rice with Sweet red bean

Let me introduce a seasonable food in Japan. Kashiwa mochi is for Boy's Day and is 5th of May. Is this the same day of Cinco De Mayo? We have girl's Day and is 3rd of March. We joke Gay's Day and is 4th of April. This is not much popular because we do not have much gay people in Japan. Even we have them, they are under ground and not like this city.
Go back to the story. Kashiwa is Daimyo Oak and see all over Japan. Oak leaves, until the sprouts grow from old leaves fall, fartility are said to be carrying a good luck.

Some places use leaves of China root.


We also have sakura mochi which is mochi with cherry leaves in Japan. This is our culture.

Mochi is meade from sweet rice. It is same cooking as regular rice and pond and make sticky.

Then, stuff braised sweetened red bean. This is called anko. An pan is bread with anko.

Breaking News: FDA hold fish and release

FDA got fish yesterday but released this afternoon. This is a good news. We get fish from west of Shizuoka. Now, they say Kanagawa, Tokyo, Chiba are bad for catching. I have no idea next week. India banned to import all foods from Japan for next 3 months.

This store sell high end crocodile belts for PGA Tour players.
